Event sponsor

The Midwest Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theater that serves the community with film, performing arts, and education events in a grand, historic theater building. All this is made possible with the support of the community, such as through event sponsorships.

You can give a gift to the community through Midwest Theater programming in several ways:

Performing Arts Season Sponsorship

Performing arts sponsors enable high-quality artists to come to perform in western Nebraska at an affordable ticket price, and also make possible FREE performing arts education events that benefit thousands of students. Full-season sponsorships are available in the summer before the performing arts season is advertised. Single-show sponsorships are available until shortly before each show. Season sponsorships include event tickets and sponsor recognition, which varies by sponsorship level. Contact the theater for more information 308-632-4311.

Single-show sponsorships make great gifts because they are a way to publicly celebrate and recognize someone, and to give that person a special experience at a performing arts show of their choice. You can set up a gift sponsorship, and then allow the recipient to choose the show they want to see.

Movie Event Sponsorship

Special film programming throughout the year can be offered for FREE to the community with the help of sponsors to cover the film booking costs.  Sponsors are recognized in event advertising and on the big screen. Contact the theater for more information 308-632-4311.

Sponsorships make the following types of events possible:

Hispanic Heritage Film Festival

A weekend of special film screenings celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15). The selection varies each year.

Sponsorship commitments needed at least a month before the event.

Science on Screen®

The goal of the Science on Screen series is to increase science literacy by creatively pairing screenings of classic, cult, science fiction, and documentary films with lively presentations by notable experts from the world of science and technology. Each film is used as a jumping-off point for a speaker to introduce current research or technological advances in a manner that engages popular culture audiences. Science on Screen is an initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theatre with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Panhandle Research and Extension Center has been a major partner in Midwest Theater Science on Screen events, which have focused on agricultural science. Science on Screen events at the Midwest Theater are held during the school year and include both a school program for middle school grades and an evening presentation for the general public.

Sponsorship commitments needed at least a month before the event. Upcoming events are January 30 and May 7, 2020.
