A Plastic Ocean is an epic global adventure following a documentary filmmaker and a world record free-diver as they travel the earth discovering the shocking impact plastic is having on our oceans and the marine animals that live there. They investigate how our addiction to plastic is impacting the food chain and how that is effecting every one of us through new and developing human health problems. The expedition leads the two adventurers to unusual scientific discoveries, heart-breaking truths and important solutions to one of the biggest problems confronting mankind.

Director bio:
Craig Leeson is an award-winning journalist, filmmaker, television presenter and public speaker. He is the founder of Leeson Media International and Ocean Vista Films and chairman of the I Shot Hong Kong Film Festival. He is also the Asia correspondent for the Seven Network and an international correspondent for global network, Al Jazeera English. He began his career as a newspaper journalist before moving to television as a news correspondent and anchor. Craig has worked with major global broadcasters including the BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, PBS and Australia’s ABC. He began his documentary filmmaking career with the National Geographic Channel, producing and directing NGC’s top Asia television programs and projects including GeoWatch Asia, the Top 30 Countdown for NGC’s 10th anniversary special, Marco Polo: Mystery of the Middle Kingdom, the channel’s Earth Day promotions, and the extreme sports action series the Action Asia Challenge. Craig is also a qualified surf life saver, an advanced scuba diver and a private pilot.
