The Instrumental Music Program at Western Nebraska Community College is performing at two upcoming music events, including a free concert for the community. WNCC’s annual Spring Band Concert will be held at the Midwest Theater Sunday April 23 at 3 p.m. Additionally, tickets are on sale for WNCC’s annual Jump, Jive & Swing community dance.

In keeping with its 90th anniversary celebration, this year’s theme for the Spring Band Concert is “The Roaring Twenties,” and features Western Nebraska Winds and soloists Austin Sailors, WNCC sax instructor, and Dr. Brooks Hafey, Chadron State College piano instructor. Sailors is performing “A Tribute to Rudy Wiedoeft” and Dr. Hafey is performing “Rhapsody in Blue.” All of the music performed throughout the evening is either from the 1920s or about the 1920s.

The Spring Band Concert is open and free for everyone. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
