Beach Blanket Bingo – 60th Anniversary
The Midwest Classic Movie Series takes movies from the 1910’s to the 1960’s that have stood the test of time to be considered classic and puts them where they belong – back on the big screen. The Historic Midwest Theater is the perfect setting to watch these films as it transports you back to the era they were released in. Whether you saw them on one of their original runs or only on TV, make your way to a M.C.M. screening on the 3rd Saturday of the Month.
Summer is in full swing and what better way to beat the heat than in a nice cool theater watching some cool kids heat up the screen in – Beach Blanket Bingo – 60th Anniversary.
The Beach Party Gang is back at it again! Frankie (Frankie Avalon) and Dee Dee (Annette Funicello) are spending the summer the only way they know how, by singing and dancing at their favorite haunt – the beach! When singer Sugar Kane (Linda Evans) does a publicity stunt at the beach the gang soon get mixed up in the shenanigans. The surfer’s enemies, Eric von Zipper and his Rat Pack, don’t think Sugar should be messed up with those “beach bums” so they’re ready to start a ruckus. Things only get wilder with dance parties, sky-diving, mermaids, and cameos from comedy legends Don Rickles and Buster Keaton.
Play the game that separates the girls from the boys… into groups of two!
