2024 Summer Movies – The Lion King – 30th Anniversary

Our 2024 Summer Movie Series shows movies that the whole family can enjoy. For the past 100 years the gold standard for family entertainment has been the Walt Disney Animated feature films. That is why our theme this summer is – Disney through the Decades!

From the 1990’s

The Lion King

Young lion prince, Simba, is more interested in exploring than learning to take over from his father Mufasa. His evil uncle Scar takes advantage of this and uses it to take over the pride lands and send Simba away. Befriending Timon and Pumbaa, Simba grows up living by the philosophy – Hakuna Matata – No worries for the rest of your days. It would have stayed that way if Nala hadn’t stumbled upon them. Simba learns that Scar, with the help of the hyenas, has ruined the pride lands. He must find the courage to return and take his rightful place as The Lion King.
