Friday the 13th (2009) – 15th Anniversary
Often noted as the best of the early 2000’s relaunches of classic ’80’s slasher movies, 2009’s Friday the 13th basically takes the 1st three movies and quickly blends them together as a new launching point for the man behind the hockey mask – Jason Voorhees.
While camping a group of young adults visit the boarded up site of Camp Crystal Lake. They soon encounter Jason, who has deadly intentions towards young adults. Six weeks later Clay (Jared Padalecki), the brother of one of those campers, distributes posters of his missing sister. The police believe she took off with her boyfriend; but he knows better. Clay crosses paths with another group of young adults, looking to party at one of their parents’ cabin next to Crystal Lake. They plan to spend the weekend drinking alcohol, doing drugs, and having premarital sex. Unfortunately those are the very things that can send Jason on a killing spree. Can Clay avenge his sister? Will any of the partiers survive? Will Jason use a machete? Only one of those is a definite “Heck, Yeah!”.
Celebrating it’s 15th Anniversary, Friday the 13th stars Jared Padalecki (TV’s Supernatural, House of Wax), Amanda Righetti (TV’s The Mentalist, Reagan), Danielle Panabaker (TV’s The Flash, Piranha 3DD) and Derek Mears (TV’s Swamp Thing (2019), Predators).
