M.C.M – It Happened On 5th Avenue
On 5th Avenue in New York City reside some of the richest people in America. Including Michael J. O’Connor (Charles Ruggles) the 2nd richest man in America, but while he’s wintering in warmer climates, his boarded up mansion is being occupied by a homeless man named Aloysius T. McKeever (Victor Moore). He’s been getting away with it for years but this winter he invites recently evicted veteran Jim Bullock (Don DeFore) to stay with him. Before they know it, O’Connor’s daughter Mary (Ann Harding) joins them by pretending to be homeless herself. More people join including the O’Connors themselves in this heartwarming tale that shows us what Christmas means to people, rich or poor.
