Sabrina Fairchild (Audrey Hepburn) has spent her youth admiring the luxury and gallantry of her father’s employer, the Larrabee family. From their apartment over the garage she has watched and become infatuated with their youngest son, David (William Holden). He has hardly noticed her, concerning himself with the frivolity and parties that come with being rich. His brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) has hardly noticed her either, concerning himself with keeping the family business going so they could remain rich.

Encouraged by her father, Sabrina leaves for an extended stay in Paris. Where she turns from being shy and awkward to becoming elegant and sophisticated. Upon her return David takes instant notice of her, much to her pleasure. The only problem is he’s already engaged to marry another woman. Too aware of his bother’s wondering eye, Linus hatches a plan to keep Sabrina occupied and away from his brother’s flighty attention. There’s only one problem with the plan – he starts to fall in love with Sabrina himself!
