FAQ

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

When are you open?
We are closed for our 2022 season but plan to reopen in the Spring of 2023. We are open Fri, Sat & Sun nights. We also open other nights for premieres and special events throughout the season.

Do you still show movies in the rain & snow?
Yes. Sometimes the theater can get a little snowy and/or muddy, but we show in ALL weather conditions. We do however close when it’s just too cold or the snow is too deep. Check Facebook or call 308-632-4311 for the latest updates

Should I bring my own battery-operated radio or just use the one in the car?
If you are concerned that your car battery will run down or you do not know how to keep all your lights off, then please bring a battery-powered, portable FM radio. Apps on phones do not work unless it has a built-in FM antenna.

What time does the gate open?
We normally open our entrance gate 45 mins before the posted show times. We also open early on some special events or holidays when large crowds are anticipated.

Can we sit on top of the car or do I need to bring chairs?
Feel free to bring chairs, blankets, and air mattresses and sit around your vehicle or in the truck bed. Please do not sit on top of your vehicle. It is dangerous and blocks other people’s view of the screen.

Can I barbeque while we watch the movie?
No.

Are the movie times at night only or daytime?
We show the movies under the cover of darkness! So, we have to wait until after the sun goes down.

Do I have to stay for the entire movie?
No, you may leave as you please. However, If you leave the grounds and then plan to come back in, you will be required to pay for another admission due to our insurance policy.

Can I bring my own food?
NO. Please support your community Non-Profit Theater. The Friends of the Midwest Theater is the Operator of the Midwest SkyView Drive-In.

Can I bring a camper to the drive-in?
Please call ahead to make arrangements with the Management. We can accommodate almost any vehicle.

Do you have gift cards?
Yes, you must ask to speak to a Staff Member, call our office at 308-632-4311, or visit the “Egift card” tab on the concessions web page. Our Gift Cards are valid at the Midwest Theater in Downtown Scottsbluff & at the Midwest SkyView Drive-In.

Is alcohol allowed?
No.

If I have a Truck, Van, or Suv, am I allowed to back in and open my hatch?
Yes. It is highly encouraged to get comfortable.

Can I smoke?
No, smoking is not permitted on the property unless you are in your vehicle and only if it does not bother your neighbors. Also, no butts are to be thrown on the ground. This is a safety hazard to our staff and vehicles around you. If you are observed doing this, you will be asked to leave without a refund.

How early should I arrive?
Spots are first come, first served. On busy nights such as Fridays, Saturdays, or special occasions/events, we suggest arriving when the gates open or sooner. We fill up fast once we open our gates on busy nights and arriving early is the best way to insure a good viewing spot.

If the lot is full, can I still come in?
No. There are occupancy restrictions.

Is it Cash Only or do you accept Credit Cards?
We accept credit and debit cards both at the Ticket Booth, at Concessions, and at Online Concessions.

When is showtime?
The movies start once it is dark enough to clearly see them on the screen.

I’ve never been to a drive-in before. What should I bring?

  • Flashlight (if you plan to be away from your vehicle after dark)
  • Blanket/Jacket
  • Portable chairs (if you wish to sit outside of your vehicle)
  • Portable FM radio (if you plan to sit outside your vehicle or want to save your battery but especially if you do not know how to turn all of your vehicle lights off!).
  • Bug-Spray or Mosquito Coils

How does the parking work at your drive-in?
General Admission Parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may not “hold” a spot for a friend. If someone else wants it and there is not already a vehicle in it, they can have it.
