April’s movie is BEN-HUR – 65th Anniversary

Ben-Hur is the kind of Biblical Epic that only classic Hollywood can bring to the screen! The first movie to win 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture (1960)! With gigantic sets, breathtaking panoramas, and thunderous action, Ben-Hur is the tale of a Jewish prince in 1st-century Jerusalem, that is betrayed and sent into slavery by a Roman friend. He manages to regain his freedom and comes back for revenge. Along Ben-Hur’s journey he also meets Jesus Christ and witnesses his crucifixion. Based on the novel by Lew Wallace entitled Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.

Starring Charlton Heston, Stephen Boyd, Hugh Griffen, Cathy O’Donnell, Jack Hawkins, Haya Harareet, Martha Scott, and Finlay Currie. Directed by William Wyler.
