The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) – 50th Anniversary
The Historically Haunted Midwest Theater is getting spooky this October for our Hauntasic Halloween Season! The third weekend in October is our Horror Icons’ Anniversaries Weekend! Horror Icon Leatherface first appeared in the Tobe Hooper classic that helped form the horror genre and has been shocking audiences for half a century.
Five friends head to rural Texas to visit the old family home and swimming hole of a sibling’s deceased grandfather. As they get closer things become creepier and creepier, from desecrated gravesites to a photo obsessed hitchhiker. They finally reach their destination, but little do they know that next door are a family of cannibalistic serial killers. The deadliest is Leatherface, who likes to ware the different faces of his victims and whose weapon of choice is a chainsaw.
Will any of the friends make it out alive or will they all be next on the menu?
There will be a special video made for the 50th Anniversary rerelease before the show.
